I made these sculptures for this year's telltale games halloween contest.
I got second place but im happy ^^
I choosed The Tales of Monkey Island franchise for this contest, so i made a set of two GROG jars, one is the regular GROG for males and the other one is the "light" version of GROG for women.
I thought about making the traditional German Beer jars that come with a cap at the top, so for this contest i created an Elaine bust as the Cap for the "Light" Grog version and for the regular Grog who else than a Guybrush bust in an iconic pose with his pall the hand ^^.
The bases are not real glass jars, i had to simulate them from a couple of regular glasses without handles, both handles are sculpted ropes.
The Caps are NOT fixed to the base and can be opened like the traditional German beer jars (so yeah, they work) and can be filled with real grog too ;).
Both bases have each character's ship designs and colors (so Guybrush's jar has the design from the ship at the beginning of episode 1 (and not the narwhal design) and Elaine has the design of her ship.)
Hope you guys like them.
You can see them with more detail in my DA account here

I didnt notice i had about two years without updating LJ. I always make promises about keeping up to date but im not the kind of person with a super exiting life nor has lots to tell or say.
Anyway, this year started good and turned bad all of a sudden and will not end any better at least this year, i hope next year will be far better than this one and we are finally able to start creating the things we have in mind.
I started a web comic called Dirt Vex (dirtvex.tk or http://dirtvex.blogspot.com), though im not 100% on it (its also an experiment) so dont expect too many updates on it.
So here's an image of the main character and a halloween version from The main character's sister.

PS: Both inked digitally in manga studio and colored in photoshop

I think I’m going to get sick, i couldn’t sleep last night at all and today i had to go early with my wife to look for some documents of our home and had to walk quite some distance, and once there we had to wait half an hour for the guy to finish reviewing the papers on the guy in front.
I’m usually annoyed about this, but this time I also had a terrible stomach aque and a bit of Dia*** ("mommy that guy used the D word")
Anyway, we finally got launch at about 3pm but i wasn’t holding it up too well (yet i was starving and the damned food tasted SO GOOD T__T). So I could only eat less than half a plate.
(7 hours later and i still feel the food in my stomach and is not a nice feeling).
I think a monster truck ran me over about 20 times... I feel my head like a stone (not hard headed, heavy =__=')

There was a contest last month for a Sam & Max Halloween theme, so I went and made a couple of pics for it.
Well, another contest lost. What it bothers me is that on the closure announcement they used my image to advertise the announcement on their blog, and is only human to assume that if they use your fricking image to advertise the contest closure it is because you have a place with the winners.... but NOooOOoo!! Damn, that was hell of a kick in the nuts.
There is another contest I’m considering but after this all the steam and good mood lowers dramatically.. the cool thing is that I have new ideas for 3 sarcastic pics.

Here is the second one.. has a tiny weenie grammar mistake ^^

This is a personal comic project I’m working in my spare time. I have been developing this story for about 10 years and finally this year I re-wrote it to a point I’m satisfied with it and I started the process of illustrating it, I’m very slow because of several things (work, contests, family visits, weekly annoyances (diligences), etc) but I’ve drawn about 18 pages, inked about 8 and colour 2 :D.... so someday ill finish it ;).
On a different tone, I’ve been thinking in using half of my "unknown" work and make some greeting cards, postcards, mugs, magnets, pins and maybe shirts to sell through a customized shop. (No, not through cafepress... something much better)
Anyway, I should start writing in Spanish since
little_teacup is the only one who visits me ^^ hehe... nah ill keep practicing my English :P
SOO, here are the pages of the comic, drawn and inked in Manga Studio, painted in painter.

I made this as a way to say Happy Halloween to everyone.
The characters are the usual Halloween people but I wanted to include my avatar in it as well.
It was drawn and inked in Manga Studio and painted in Painter. Took me a bit over 18 Hours total (it was made at 600dpi... my computer hardly managed it :P)
So Happy Halloween 2007.
Hope everyone enjoy this one

I dare you to touch me.... its good to be evil.
I watched the movie "Legend" a few months ago for the first time and got hooked with the Darkness design, that pluss Hellboy made me draw a female version of a demon.
Last night i wanted to practice painting skin tones and chosed her for my practice, got carried away and 8 hours later it became the image you see.

I drew this angel a long time ago, i had this image in my mind of a bald angel, kind of soulless yet imposing at sight.
Her cloth has the symbol of a wanderer, meaning that she isnt attached to any god or demon.
Didnt want her to look evil or good, but i wanted her to have a feeling of intrigue as to not knowing what is on her mind or what are her intentions.
The gratest challenge for me was to paint a bald girl

I made this in my free time just for fun and to practice a bit the human figure.
The idea was to make it as a cover for an xmen comic.

I also made a small number of web comic pages for the game flyff (6 pages in total)
The humor is hard to get if you never played the game (or a mmorpg in most cases)

This is the main Character of a story I’ve been developing for some time now.
I created this image a long time ago and thanks to Steven Stahlberg's corrections I was able to improve this image quite a LOT, so here is the totally fixed version 100% improved ^^.

Timeless Memories:
I wanted to portray how our deepest memories last throughout eternity.
I chose an Elf figure since elves can live forever, also gave him futuristic items to set him in a far future surrounded by the timeless memory of his long lost love.
The clock element is the most important thing in the image since everything reflects time yet too subtle to be noticed.
The composition was divided into two reflecting time and memory apart from each other yet connected trough the elven character as he is the driver of the whole composition.

It was done in painter 9, the background was done in maya and heavily re-touched in painter and filtered in photoshop.

I mad3e this to illustrate (to kids) what does each side of the brain do.

This is a Board Game I made for the magazine (tricolor). It was quick and simple. The main subject was about cave age.
The rules of the game are really simple, but I didn´t include them in the image for obvious reasons. But its easy to create your own rules.

To the MOVIES. This was a rush job but it was really fun to do. I also wanted to experiment with some configurations and I ended up discovering an ink substitute with sharper and much better results. (I inked this by hand and after trouble cleaning in the computer i started inking digitally)
The Image in the "screen" was from another work i made which really blends in nicely imho.

I Made a Mayor update to my BLOG, i wanted to make it look more like a Comic book than a web page. It also requires the font "comic sans ms" to have the full effect though i think its a standard font with Windows.
Would like comments on the blog ^^.
http://glenfx.blogspot.com/
l also posted this image there as well which i made to represent the local Futbol (soccer) team "La Vinotinto".
